Court strikes out case against Akwa Ibom PDP Guber candidate, Pastor Eno

A Chief Magistrate Court in Abuja has struck out the case and nullified the warrant of arrest issued against the Akwa Ibom State Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Umo Eno.

The court said it set aside the entire proceedings and judgment on grounds of lack of jurisdiction.

It could be recalled that the Chief Magistrate court presided by Emmanuel Iyanna on December 23, 2022 issued a warrant of arrest against Pastor Umo Eno based on allegations of cheating and dishonesty brought by one Edet Godwin.

But, in a proceeding on Tuesday, the court upheld the position of the Counsel to Pastor Umo Eno, Samuel Ikpo and squashed the case as well as the warrant of his arrest.

It admitted that it was misled by the applicant, Edet Godwin into issuing the warrant of arrest.
