Amotekun arrests ex-convict for burglary, theft
The operatives of the Osun Amotekun Corps have arrested a 40-year-old man, Rufai Wasiu, for burglary and phone theft.
Confirming the arrest to journalists in Osogbo on Thursday, the Corps Commander, Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi, said the suspect, who specialises in house burgling and stealing, was arrested after a complaint was lodged.
“The suspect was arrested in Osogbo after burgling a house and stealing phones by the operatives after a complaint was lodged at our Osogbo command about his atrocities.
“The suspect confessed to committing the act and had been jailed for the same act in the past.
“The suspect has been handed over to the police for subsequent interrogation and prosecution,” Adewinmbi said.
