England vs Scotland: He fades out – Stuart Pearce criticizes Rashford after 3-1 win

England legend, Stuart Pearce, has criticized Marcus Rashford following his performance during the Three Lions’ international friendly win over Scotland on Tuesday.

Pearce said Rashford faded out during the encounter, adding that the Manchester United forward looked ‘uninterested’ at times.

Recall that goals from Phil Foden, Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane ensured England defeated Scotland 3-1 at Hampden Park.

Harry Maguire did score an own goal in the second half of the match.

“This is where I sort of have a little bit of a frustration with Rashford,” Pearce told talkSPORT.

“I think he can grab hold of the game for 90 minutes and run past people and be like [Thierry] Henry. You remember Henry in the Premier League, it was like a man against kids on occasion.

“I just think he fades out the game too regularly and this second half is a point in case for me.”

He added, “Marcus has got the ability to do that, I’d just like to see him do it a little bit more regularly, I really would.

“There was that period in the second half when the game’s gone against us and I am thinking, ‘You look a little bit uninterested in the game here.’”
