Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface has revealed the reason behind the club’s impressive start to the 2023/24 season.

Xabi Alonso’s side have enjoyed an impressive start to the new season, with four wins and one draw.

Leverkusen thrashed Heidenheim 4-1 at the BayArena on Sunday, with Boniface netting a brace.

The 22-year-old pinpointed the key factors behind Die Werkself’s superlative displays.

“We have a very good team. I think the key is a mixture of our hunger for success, the joy of playing and above all, the willingness to work very hard. That’s what makes us stand out,” he told the club’s official website.

Boniface has recorded eight goals and three assists in seven games across all competitions for Leverkusen.
