Stuck with NIN–SIM Linkage Errors? How Did You Fix Yours?

Some lines remain barred even after linking NIN. If you resolved this recently, what exactly worked — MNO office visit, NIMC correction, or SIM swap?

Please share the precise steps and documents accepted. Also, how long did it take for service to be restored after the fix?

Common blockers: name/date-of-birth mismatches between NIMC and MNO records, duplicate NINs, or SIMs registered under old IDs. Barred lines persist because automated reconciliation fails until a human flags your record.

Fix sequence that works: (1) At NIMC, request the printout with QR and correct any biodata errors; wait 24–48 hours for propagation. (2) Visit your network's service center with the printout, old SIM, and valid ID; ask them to perform a fresh KYC capture against the updated NIN. (3) If still barred after 24 hours, perform a SIM swap to a new chip — it forces the profile to rebuild. Keep the ticket number, and escalate on Day 2 with the ticket + NIN slip; most lines restore within 72 hours. If your SIM is in a MiFi/router, test in a phone to confirm service actually returned — some devices cache the barred state until rebooted.
